The Apopka Blue Darters, coming off a 21-7 loss to Jacksonville Mandarin, fell out of the Class 8A Associated Press Top 10 poll. The Blue Darters did receive six votes, which was not enough to hold their previous #9 ranking. The Wekiva Mustangs, on the other hand, maintained their #6 ranking after a 34-0 win over the defending state champion Dr. Phillips Panthers last Friday.

Both Apopka and Wekiva are in action this Friday. The Blue Darters (5-2, 1-0) travel to Winter Garden to play district rival West Orange (5-2, 1-0), while Wekiva (5-1, 0-1) hosts the Evans Trojans (1-5, 0-1).

Both games are scheduled to kickoff at 7 PM on Friday and admission is $6.

  1. I am always #Apopka Blue Darter Proud, and #Wekiva Mustang Proud! I also want to thank AHS and OCPS for finally fixing their chain link fence surrounding the AHS parking lot that was down in places, causing the high school kids to skip school, and step through the downed fence, and cut through neighbor’s back yards. I don’t know who to thank personally, but maybe it is the new principal of AHS, not sure though, but to who ever decided to fix the problem….a BIG THANK YOU shout out!!!!
