Former Apopka star drafted by the Miami Dolphins

Chandler Cox is headed back to Florida.

Selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, Cox was the 233rd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Cox was a four-year starter for the Tigers and played multiple roles, including as a Wildcat quarterback for the Tigers.

Cox played in 52 games with 41 career starts at Auburn as he paved the way for other running backs in the Tigers' run, play-action uptempo system. He ran 11 times but caught 26 passes for 237 yards during his career that included stints at fullback, H-Back, tight end, and Wildcat quarterback.

Cox played fullback for the Blue Darters from 2011-2014. He won two state championships at Apopka in 2012 and 2015. He was first team all-state in 2013 and 2014 and a US Army All-American in 2015 (for the 2014 season).
