From Linda Goff, The City Clerk of Apopka:
“I have received notification from the Orange County Supervisor of Election’s office that they are awaiting pending approval by the Governor to extend voting an extra hour to 8:00 p.m. in precincts where municipal elections are taking place.”
Because of the issues in several polling places this morning in which precincts ran out of ballots, The Orange County Supervisor of Elections has requested the one hour extension. This would include all 17 polling places in Apopka.
Currently there has been 7989 votes cast in the Apopka elections, and 510,959 statewide.
The Apopka Voice will update you if/when this extension takes place.
