‘I Got My Shot’ billboards feature Central Florida physicians, families and local pastors

From the Orange County Newsroom

The Orange County Communication Task Force that launched the “I Got My Shot” public safety campaign is expanding its commitment to educating and encouraging residents to be vaccinated. With over 120 convenient and free COVID-19 vaccination sites countywide, the task force is launching a targeted billboard campaign aimed to encourage residents to find a nearby location and to get vaccinated.

Orange County vaccination rate as of June 2, 2021

Eighteen public service messages went up Monday, June 7, 2021 and will remain in place for 12 weeks, ending August 29, 2021. The billboards will go where the data from the Florida Department of Health in Orange County show they are most needed based on vaccination rates in the area.

Orange County collaborated with over 10 local physicians, four families and four places of worship for the creation, support and rollout of these billboards, including Apopka's Rejoice in the Lord Ministries.

Rejoice in the Lord Ministries is a nondenominational church under the leadership of Pastor Zak, and located at 8053 Gilliam Road, Apopka 32703. Their website states that they are "a Christian community seeking to make a positive impact on the world" around them by following the example of Jesus Christ to love God and love His people.

This positive impact will take on a unique and tangible expression these next three months, as they host one of the 18 "I Got My Shot" billboards. The message this campaign hopes to send to residents is that the vaccine is safe and convenient, and to encourage them to get the vaccine as soon as possible to help build "community immunity".

Thank you Rejoice in the Lord Ministries for doing your part to spread the word!
