3,000 stories published... and we're just getting warmed-up

The Apopka Voice publishes its 3,000th article in just 17 months

They say that writers write, and that's what we've been doing at The Apopka Voice. This article is the 3,000th published since we started reporting the news in Apopka back in December of 2015.

emergency We publish immediately when news is breaking.

In that time we have covered breaking news, business openings, and traffic alerts. When the Apopka Fire and Police Departments respond to a fire, crash or crime, we reported on it. We gave you the details on City Council meetings, we were there when two brand-new candidates defeated two City Commission incumbents. We reported on an incredible Apopka Blue Darter regular season 9-0 record in high school football and a state runner-up run by Wekiva High in basketball. We inspire you on Sundays and inform you on all the news of Apopka seven days a week.

And we're just getting warmed-up.

The staff at The Apopka Voice would like to thank all of our readers for your support. 3,000 stories in 17 months are enough words to fill up 20 novels, but we hope to do even more in the coming months. It's because of our reader's response that keeps us going.

According to Google Analytics, there has been an average of over 20,000 readers on TheApopkaVoice.com website. We also are nearing 5,000 likes on Facebook.

But we aren't a Facebook Page... we are a LION.

The Apopka Voice is a Local Independent Online News Site (LION). We publish 5-10 articles per day, and we publish immediately when there is breaking news. The articles are first published on our website; TheApopkaVoice.com, then we post links to the articles on Facebook and other social media platforms. We use Facebook to deliver the articles to your computer and/or mobile device.

Another way to get immediate notification of each story we publish is to set a Google News Alert. Use this link to find out more: Readers of The Apopka Voice can now use Google News Alerts

We give you the details on City Council meetings, and we were there to report the news when two brand-new candidates defeated two City Commission incumbents.

We also encourage our readers to use Facebook to comment on our articles. Facebook comments are better than Letters to the Editor because first and foremost, they are immediate... no waiting for your letter to be “approved” and published. Second, there is unlimited space. We don’t have to pick the “best” letters to publish or limit the number of words. Third, others can comment on your comments. This helps the whole Apopka Community to have a voice.

We know that every article isn't going to be of interest to every one of our 20,000-plus readers, but if you see an article that is of interest to you it will probably be of interest to one or more of your Facebook friends. The best way to help them be as informed as you are is to share the article using Facebook’s “Share” and "Tag" features to make it visible to your friends.

And yes, we have another reason for asking you to “Share” as many of our articles as possible. “Sharing” spreads the word to more people, which leads to more readers, which leads to more visibility for our advertisers, which leads to more advertisers.

And more advertisers allows us to publish even more articles about Apopka.

And that is what we are all about; publishing as many articles as possible so that those who live here know what is happening in Apopka.
