On Sunday, Democratic hopefuls for office up and down the ballot rallied with supporters at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections for “Souls to the Polls”, an event that draws voters from their Sunday church services to early voting locations.
Senator Bill Nelson led the group of Democratic candidates across Kaley Avenue, which included Sheriff Jerry Demings, who’s running for Orange County Mayor and his wife, Congresswoman Val Demings, who is running for reelection.
Other candidates who participated in the event who are running for the support of Apopka voters included County Commissioner Victoria Siplin, Demings’ mayoral opponent, County Commissioner Pete Clarke, Democrat Nikki Fried, who is running for Commissioner of Agriculture and Democrat Businessman Chris King, who is a longshot contender for Florida Governor.

Election day is Tuesday.

  1. Glad that this time I voted fairly early. I heard if you vote early, that the campaign fliers and phone calls stop, but that hasn’t been the case at all at my house. I have put the fliers in the re-cycle can. I used to keep them for reference, to go back on after a candidate got elected, to see if they kept their campaign promises, but that got old really quick, and there was too many paper stacks piling up around my house. I was watching tv about the old Wally’s bar closing after about 60 something years, and it looked like to me that Teresa Jacobs had her campaign sign up there on top, near the top of the Wally’s sign. Wonder who got up there and put that up? LOL…well, good luck and best wishes to all who are running, as tomorrow is the big day!
