Volunteers Needed for Back to School Fair

"I am looking for volunteers for the 2016 Annual Back to School Fair," says Bryan Nelson Orange Cointy Commissioner for District 2. "Please call my office at 407-836-5850 if you would like to assist me on that day! Thank you for donating your time and making a difference in a child's life!"

The 2016 Annual Back-to-School Fair scheduled for Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the John H. Bridges Community Center in Apopka. The event is designed to provide school supplies to children in the Apopka community.

"Last year the team at the Bridges Center was able to provide 650 backpacks to children and teens from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade," said Nelson. "This year our goal is to have over 400 families attend and provide at least 1,000 backpacks to children full of school supplies to better equip them for school."

Every $12 donated results in one fully loaded backpack of school supplies to a child in need. The backpacks will include the following;

1 ruler

3 folders

1 blunt scissors

24PK crayons

10 #2 pencils

8ct. pack of markers

1 large glue Stick

1 wedge eraser

1 pencil sharpener

100 pg. composition book

150 ct. pack of filler paper

The backpack fair will take place on August 06, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. but you must be registered in advance to receive a free backpack. Stop by the Bridges Center before July 29th to pre-register.
