At approximately 12:49 am, Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to a shooting call at a Hawthorne Avenue home in South Apopka. Upon arrival deputies discovered the victim Cornelius Dennison, 20 of Apopka, had been shot at the Hawthorne location by a known suspect, who is described in the release as a 22-year-old black male. Dennison was transported to Florida Hospital Apopka by a relative who was present during the shooting. Dennison was pronounced deceased upon arrival. Homicide and Forensics units responded. The whereabouts of the suspect is unknown at this time. Homicide is continuing the investigation.
