Apopka Police Department wants your help in the armed robbery

The Apopka Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a local pharmacy in the early morning hours of August 8th.

Apopka police officers responded to the Walgreens Pharmacy, at 125 East Main Street in Apopka, on Tuesday at approximately 2 AM in reference to a possible robbery. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the shift manager, who stated she observed two males running out of the store.

According to security video, the two men proceeded to the rear of the store where the pharmacy is located. One suspect jumped over the counter where he made contact with the pharmacist. Later in the video, he reappears and jumps over the counter where he meets the other suspect who was waiting for him on the other side. Both suspects then ran to the front of the store where they exited.

The pharmacist said he was in one of the medication aisles behind the pharmacy counter when he encountered the suspect. He said when he came out from the aisle, he was surprised by the suspect pointing a gun at him. He said the suspect threatened to kill him if he did not give him oxycodone and hydromorphone.

The suspects were described as black males, one wearing a black zip up jacket, a white shirt underneath the jacket, blue jeans, and a red backpack. The other suspect was wearing a hoodie, a light brown backpack and grey pants (possibly jeans).

The shift manager followed the two males out of the store, not aware of the situation, and contacted law enforcement due to her suspicion that they may have committed a retail theft.

The APD is asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Apopka Police Department at (407) 703-1757. Or call Crimeline at 800/423-TIPS (8477).
