Thuy Lowe Qualifies For Ballot By Petition for 10th Congressional District.

Volunteers and the Florida Federated of Republican Women helped Thuy Lowe to secure the necessary number of signatures to meet the requirements for congressional nominees, the Lowe campaign announced today.

Lowe's supporters have collected over 2,800 signatures during the last two months and have met the requirement to qualify for the ballot in the 2016 election.

"I am ready to serve the people in Congressional District 10," said Thuy Lowe. “Many of our supporters dove into the first phase of our campaign; pounding the pavement, canvassing neighborhoods; and collecting petition signatures at events.”

Thuy Lowe, a Republican candidate for Florida’s 5th Congressional District during the 2014 election cycle, announced her intentions to end her bid for the re-drawn 5th Congressional District and to re-direct her campaign to Florida’s 10th Congressional District in April 2016.

The recent announcement by Congressman Daniel Webster to vacate his 10th Congressional District seat to run in Florida’s 11th Congressional District, ignited Thuy’s interest to represent voters from the old 5th Congressional District and the new 10th Congressional district. Florida’s new 10th Congressional District absorbed all of the Orange County voting population that was part of the old 5th Congressional District.

Thuy is very familiar with the new Congressional District 10. Her parents bought their first home in Orange County, Florida, after leaving the refugee camp at Eglin Air Force base. Thuy and her siblings were raised in Orange County where she learned to speak English and graduated from Edgewater High School. Thuy later earned her Bachelor Degree in Marketing from University of Central Florida.

As an entrepreneur, Thuy operated a transportation business which secured a contract with the Tri-County Transportation Disadvantage Program, currently operated by Lynx, to provide non-emergency medical transportation services to Seminole, Orange, and Osceola residents.
