The CPS Sportsplex is one of several venues hosting Orlando Volleyball Academy's 2016 ASICS MLK Volleyball Tournament this weekend. 360 girl's junior's teams (48 in Apopka).
Michael Cooper, owner of the CPS Sportsplex estimated today's crowd to be near 3,000. This would include the players, coaches, and fans for 48 teams competing in Apopka this weekend. A similar turnout is expected tomorrow as pool play continues. Cooper predicted 2,000 would be onsite on Monday for the single-elimination finals in the various divisions.
The size of the CPS Sportsplex makes a crowd of 3,000 look small as the photos with this article show. However, overflow parking was being used as the main parking lot was completely full.
Apopkans should visit the venue tomorrow, take in the volleyball, eat at the Cafe USA and marvel at the size of the new CPS Sportsplex.
Games will be played from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM tomorrow.
