The United States maintained its position on top of the Medal Count Scoreboard by winning two Gold, two Silver and three Bronze medals yesterday.
Both US Gold medals came in swimming.
Lilly King defeating Russian swimmer Yulia Efimova in the women's 100-meter breaststroke. King set an Olympic record with a final time of 1:04.93. Efimova came in second place with a time of 1:05.50.
American Ryan Murphy set an Olympic record in the men's 100-meter backstroke final.
