Nelson Chosen as Vice Mayor of Orange County Commission

Apopka resident and Orange County District 2 Commissioner Bryan Nelson was selected on the Board of County Commissioners to serve as Vice-Mayor on Tuesday morning.

Nelson was nominated by out-going Vice-Mayor, District 1 Commissioner Scott Boyd and voted to the position by the commission.

Nelson was first elected in 2014 to the commission and is wrapping up his first full year in office. Previously he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 31st District, which includes the cities of Apopka, Eustis, Mount Dora, Tavares and Umatilla in northern Lake County and northern Orange County, from 2006 until 2014.
