NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Patrick Watling picked up a goal and an assist, but the injury-ravaged Orlando Solar Bears (24-18-5-2) dropped a 3-2 decision to the South Carolina Stingrays (26-20-2-1) on Sunday afternoon at North Charleston Coliseum.

The Stingrays opened the scoring with a late first period goal during an odd-man rush, as Rob Flick flipped the puck to his left for Domenic Monardo, who fired a shot through the pads of Ryan Massa at 19:21.

Patrick Watling evened the score with an early second period goal as Kyle Shapiro sent a long pass up the left side to Chris Crane, creating a two-on-none breakaway with Watling. Crane dished the puck to his right for Watling to beat Adam Carlson at 1:41.

South Carolina took the lead again at 2:05 of the third period when Patrick Gaul redirected a feed from John Parker underneath Massa.

The Solar Bears tied it up a 2-2 while Milos Bubela sat in the box for a boarding minor, as Patrick Watling flew down the right wing and drove the net, forcing Carlson low to make a save. Watling was joined by Brenden Miller, who elevated the puck over the leg of the sprawled netminder at 3:40.

Andrew Cherniwchan netted the game-winning tally at 10:03 when he one-timed a pass from Colton Saucerman at the blueline over the glove of Massa.

Massa took the loss with 23 saves on 26 shots against; Carlson earned the victory with 25 stops on 27 shots against.

Three Stars:

1) Andrew Cherniwchan - SC

2) Domenic Monardo - SC

3) Patrick Watling - ORL
