A rare high-risk severe weather outlook issued

There is a wind advisory for most of central Florida. Winds are coming from the southwest at 20-25 mph gusting as high as 40 mph.

By the early evening hours, stronger storms push in.

By 7:00 pm a strong line of possible severe storms pushes into Marion county then moves southeast into the I-4 corridor by 9:00 pm. After it moves into Brevard and Osceola by 10:00 pm.

These storms bring a high risk of isolated tornadoes, frequent lightning, hail, and high winds. Winds within some of these storms could be gusting as high as 60-80 mph.

Storm Prediction Center Outlook

A "high risk" has been issued for parts of south Georgia, north Florida, and southeast Alabama. Significant severe weather is possible outside that area in other parts of the South (slight, enhanced, moderate areas).

This is the first high-risk severe weather outlook to be issued by SPC since June 3, 2014, which gives an idea of how unusual they are.

Since early Saturday morning, a preliminary 30 reports of tornadoes have been tallied up from Louisiana to southern Mississippi, southern Alabama and southern Georgia, according to NOAA's Storm Prediction Center.

A deadly EF3 tornado touched down in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, early Saturday, which caused considerable damage. Possible tornadoes were also reported in Alabama, including near Toxey and Wetumpka, and in Georgia near Perry, Howard and Warner Robbins.

Saturday afternoon, a dozen homes were damaged in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and one man was sucked from his house in an apparent tornado while another was injured in a mobile home as it was struck by a tornado.

Early Sunday morning, at least 11 people were killed by severe weather in southern Georgia, though it was unclear how many deaths were from tornadoes.

NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued the following severe weather watches:

A tornado watch is in effect until 2 p.m. CST for far southern Alabama and the Florida panhandle. This watch area includes Mobile, Alabama, Panama City, Florida, and Tallahassee, Florida.

A tornado watch is in effect until 10 a.m EST for southern Georgia, inland portions of the Florida Big Bend and extreme southeastern Alabama. This watch area includes Tallahassee, Florida, and Brunswick, Georgia.
