Reprogramming the heart

Inspiration

By Charles Towne

Recently I heard a man speak on reprogramming the mind. As I listened to him it struck me as more important to reprogram the heart. You might ask, “How do I reprogram my heart?”

In order to answer that question, let me relate a recent experience. A dear friend shared with me how she and her sister had disagreed over something, and suffered a falling out. This came about at a time of great loss and hurt due to the fact that their daddy had just died, therefore they were both extremely fragile.

My friend told me that she had tried to make it right but her sis wouldn’t talk to her. Oh, how human we humans can be.

In situations like this, at least with me, my instinct is to mumble and groan, and vow to never speak to the guilty party again, but if I were to do that I would never speak to me again due to the fact that more often than not I have been the guilty party. And this is where the reprogramming of the heart comes into play. Pray for the strength to be able to disregard any negative instinct, and do what you know in your heart that you should do, love the other person. Pray for them, and ask God to not only soften their heart but yours as well. Then, and this is where reprogramming of the heart really comes into play, thank God for answering your prayer even before you see an answer!

Yes, praise Him for healing. Praise Him for love and forgiveness even before you see the evidence, treat the situation as though healing has already taken place. This is the result of faith, and miracles happen due to faith. It has to begin with me.

Live wholly,

Love fully,

Love God, and make a difference, today
