Apopka dentist hosts free dental day for Veterans

For the second straight year on Veteran's Day (Friday, November 10th), Dr. John Gammichia's office in Apopka is offering free dental work for Veterans. According to Gammichia, the dentists will be providing fillings, extractions, and cleanings until they run out of time. There are 10 dentists volunteering their time, including two oral surgeons, and four hygienists. There are 40 other volunteers. Even a hairstylist will be on site to provide haircuts for Veterans.

"We are so excited to serve those who have served for us," said Gammichia. "We will be giving back to our veterans who are in need of fillings, extractions and teeth cleanings. With the help of other dentists, we plan to see as many veterans as possible."

The event will take place from 7 AM to 4 PM, but be sure to get there early. Last year according to Gammichia, they had to cut the line off at 9 am because there were already 110 people in line by then.

The event is first-come-first-served. There will be complimentary food and drinks for the people waiting in line, and a disc jockey playing music all day.

Veterans are being asked to bring proper veteran identification.

Dr. Gammichia's office is located at 450 Errol Parkway in Apopka.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to call the office at 407-889-4868.
