Public Hearing scheduled for next month

From the Orange Couty Public Information Office

A public hearing will be held on a proposed amendment to the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 5, in the MetroPlan Orlando Boardroom, 250 S. Orange Ave., Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801. This is considered a major amendment, which means a public hearing is required.

The presentation on the proposed amendment will be included as part of the annual public hearing on the region’s Transportation Improvement Program.

MetroPlan Orlando requests an amendment to the 2040 Plan to include six projects either previously identified as needs through the Long Range Transportation Plan or recently identified as needs by local government partners. Also included with the amendment is MetroPlan Orlando’s response to new requirements outlined in federal legislation to include project costs in Year of Expenditure (YOE) for each phase of a project in the plan.

In addition to making comments at the public hearing and board meeting, residents may submit written comments on the amendment to MetroPlan Orlando, 250 S. Orange Ave., Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801 or by emailing LRTP@metroplanorlando.org. The deadline to submit written comments is 5 p.m., June 13, 2017. The MetroPlan Orlando Board will consider the amendment at its regular meeting, 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14.
