Updating Breaking News from last night

From The Orange County Sheriff's Office

Yesterday, at 4:52 pm, the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to 1211 E Semoran Blvd (Orange County Library) in reference to a suspicious person. It was alleged the subject may have been in possession of an explosive device and made threats to harm others in the immediate area.

After the library was evacuated for precautionary purposes, contact was made with the subject. He was taken into custody without incident and interviewed extensively by investigators.

Upon further investigation, it was concluded the subject was not in possession of any explosive devices and his alleged threats to harm others were unfounded and determined to be a misunderstanding.

While the initial allegations were unfounded in this particular instance, we continue our efforts of encouraging citizens “if you see something, say something.”

No other details are being released at this time. If further information is learned, The Apopka Voice will update this story.
