Christine Moore signs anti-discrimination resolution

Posted

On Thursday night, in a show of solidarity with the communities they serve and the 49 victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, a group of over 20 Republican leaders from Central Florida signed a resolution pledging to support efforts to pass legislation banning discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identification.

Christine Moore, School Board Member for District 7, was one of those who signed the resolution.

The presentation took place at the Orange County Republican Executive Committee Lincoln Day Dinner, and was lead by Mayor Teresa Jacobs. There were 49 roses placed in front of the podium to remember the victims of the Pulse attack, almost all who were members of the Hispanic and LGBTQ communities.

The resolution supports the creation laws and ordinances that promote fairness by banning anti-gay and gender based discrimination and reads “Now, Therefore, we the undersign do hereby Resolve that all Americans should be treated with equality, dignity and respect, and support efforts of Florida Businesses and individuals to pass legislation banning discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identification”.
