Mitzi Hahn of Jacob's Well joins Jim Turner on "My Hometown"

Posted

Mitzi Hahn is a lady on a mission. Her passion is to educate, serve, encourage and inspire the women of Apopka. And it was from a very disturbing story that triggered this passion. On her Facebook page she writes:

"Three miles away from our church lived Andrea, a single mom. She was isolated, and depressed; she felt alone. On Mother’s day weekend in 2004, she poisoned her 3 children, hid their bodies between two mattresses, and drove away, intending to kill herself. She didn’t get that far, she was arrested, and is now serving a life sentence in prison.

Andrea’s story shocked me, I couldn’t get it out of my mind. How could she live so close to our church, with so many Christians, so much ministry going on, and still have this happen? I went to visit her, and she told me her story. Andrea is a Christian, and was a good mother. She had been going to church, until something happened, she never said exactly what. She stopped going, and became isolated. She told me that’s when the enemy got ahold of her and took her down that long, dark road.

And there, but for the grace of God, go I.

Andrea wasn’t homeless. She wasn’t a battered wife. Her children were not hungry, nor did they have special needs.

There is no ministry for the Andreas of our world outside the church."

Hahn is the guest today on 1520 WBZW's "My Hometown", She will talk about her group's efforts to start a Books/Coffee/Craft Center called Jacob's Well. Her vision is to educate, serve, encourage, and inspire women to abundant life through the love and power of Jesus Christ.

"My Hometown" airs afternoons from three to five and Hahn will be the guest at three. At four join Nick LoCicero and Jim Turner with attractions news and ideas for fun, adventure and excitement!
