This is a great opportunity to capture large-scale, positive work happening in our community at a place so many Central Floridians called their “home away from home.”

Join Lockheed Martin volunteers at the YMCA of Central Florida’s Camp Wewa as we rejuvenate its grounds that have provided so many people with memorable summers over its more than 70-year history. Approximately 1,000 company employees, family, and friends are expected to work on camp projects including hurricane clean-up, installing new flooring and a volleyball court, painting, carpentry, landscaping and clearing, and general repairs as part of the company’s annual Day of Caring.

For decades, Lockheed Martin has gathered annually to give back to the community. Each year, Lockheed Martin participates in Day of Caring to make a difference in Central Florida. On average, approximately 1,000 volunteers attend Lockheed Martin’s Day of Caring event.

This year, Lockheed Martin volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves at Camp Wewa to support hurricane clean-up and grounds upkeep. The adventure-based day camp has operated in Central Florida for more than 70 years and offers immersive learning experiences for children and youth.

In 2016, Lockheed Martin employees logged more than 80,000 volunteer hours in the Central Florida community and contributed more than $1.2 million to local charities. Lockheed Martin has approximately 7,000 employees in Orlando and 9,000 in Central Florida.
