Local business owner elected as new Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman

Ken Croston, President of Electronic Locksmith, Inc., has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I am humbled to be entrusted to chair this incredible organization and very excited about the opportunities ahead,” he said.

He noted that over the past year, chamber leaders have been hard at work updating the organization’s strategic plan and will soon be laying out an ambitious vision based on input, recommendations, and ideas that have been received from the board and general members.

Under Croston’s leadership, a review committee was tapped to facilitate the in-depth work required by strategic planning. The group has also explored best practices from other chambers and successful organizations.

“This plan will ensure that we continue to Lead, Connect and Serve at the highest level as we work to position our chamber for the future.”

Robert Agrusa, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce President, believes Croston's business experience is a good fit for leading the Chamber's Board of Directors.

As founder of Electronic Locksmith, originally known as World Class Installations, Inc., Croston grew the company from a two-man mobile business to now include a 10,000 square foot operation that employs nearly 30 people. The Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce serves as the voice of the business community for the northwest corner of Orange County, working in partnership with the City of Apopka, Orange County and the Orlando Economic Partnership to encourage investment in the Apopka area and create an environment that supports business development and job growth, and champions local businesses.
