"Let's Talk About It" - Episode 8: Child safety and neglected neighborhoods

Florida House Representative Bruce Anton will be the featured guest on “Let’s Talk About It, with Rod Love” on tonight's broadcast. Anton represents the 46th District which stretches from the Pine Hills and Oak Ridge communities of Orlando which has one of the lowest average incomes per family of any district in Central Florida.

Antone, who served as a legislative aide to Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer when he was a state senator, is serving his third consecutive term in the Legislature, where he is on House Education Committee.

The bill would require vehicles used by child care facilities and large family child care homes to be equipped with an alarm system that prompts its driver to inspect the vehicle for children before exiting the vehicle. If passed, it will go into effect on July 1st of 2018.

The Apopka Area Concerned Citizens Council will be featured on the second half of the show to discuss community mobilization within communities they deem to be unfairly treated and neglected by the government.

Rod Love

Hosts Rod Love and Greg Jackson are well-known figures in Apopka. Love is a local businessman and the co-chair of the Apopka Task Force against Violence. He is a consistent speaker at Apopka City Council meetings. Jackson is a local attorney, columnist for The Apopka Voice, and ran for the Florida Legislature in 2016 for District 45, which includes a part of Apopka. The co-hosts have shown a willingness to take on any issue their callers wish to discuss. Nothing is off the table.
