How valuable are you?

This note is a little more, well, it’s a little more than my average note. What do I mean by that? Well, let me tell you. I have my doctorate in the fine art of messing up.

Without going into it overly much, I have messed up mightily in my eighty odd, or should I say Weird, years.

If we were all to start fresh today, most of us, by this time tomorrow would have messed up somehow, some way, to a greater or lesser degree.

I think that the biggest thing about messing up is getting back up again, brushing ourselves off, and reaching out to take Papa God’s hand again. And believe me when I say, it is us, not Him that is reluctant to make amends.

“Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof,”...

To me, at the end of the day, that means “Leave it behind you!” Yeah, leave it behind you! Don’t carry a load of stinky stuff around with you! Start your life all fresh, and clean, and new right now, TODAY!

Go forward and know that Papa God is looking deeply into your heart, and what He sees residing there waiting to be revealed he likes, and believe me what He sees is beautiful beyond imagining. Yes, He knows what is there and He loves you as a favorite child, HIS FAVORITE CHILD!

I like the idea that we all have an equal chance of starting over, of beginning anew, being better than we have ever been before. You might ask yourself, “What does God intend me to be?” And though the following might sound somewhat vague, and very much like a riddle at first, I believe it is the answer to the human condition. This is what I have concluded: Without God, we are less than we could ever be With God we are more than we could ever be without God. Yes, I know, it sounds convoluted but say it to yourself several times.

What does the world need? The world needs us, you and I, to be genuine children of God.

Remember, we all have an equal chance of being better than we are today, and it is all summed up with the following idea. If you, that means you my friend, were the only person on earth, Jesus would have died willingly just for you! Does that make you valuable or what?

Charles Towne is first and foremost a Christian. An octogenarian, author, journalist, wildlife photographer, naturalist, caregiver, and survivor, his life has been and continues to be, a never-ending adventure filled with possibilities never imagined. He has adopted the philosophy that to Live fully, laugh uproariously, love passionately, and learn like there is no tomorrow, is a formula for a long and joy-filled life.
