Inspiration

By Charles Towne

This note is a little more, well, it’s a little more than my average note.  What do I mean by that?  Well, let me tell you.  I have my doctorate in the fine art of messing up.

Without going into it overly much, I have messed up mightily in my eighty odd, or should I say Weird, years.

If we were all to start fresh today, most of us, by this time tomorrow would have messed up somehow, some way, to a greater or lesser degree.

I think that the biggest thing about messing up is getting back up again, brushing ourselves off, and reaching out to take Papa God’s hand again.  And believe me when I say, it is us, not Him that is reluctant to make amends.

“Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof,”…

To me, at the end of the day, that means “Leave it behind you!”  Yeah, leave it behind you!  Don’t carry a load of stinky stuff around with you!  Start your life all fresh, and clean, and new right now, TODAY!

Go forward and know that Papa God is looking deeply into your heart, and what He sees residing there waiting to be revealed he likes, and believe me what He sees is beautiful beyond imagining.  Yes, He knows what is there and He loves you as a favorite child, HIS FAVORITE CHILD!

I like the idea that we all have an equal chance of starting over, of beginning anew, being better than we have ever been before.  You might ask yourself, “What does God intend me to be?”  And though the following might sound somewhat vague, and very much like a riddle at first, I believe it is the answer to the human condition. This is what I have concluded:  Without God, we are less than we could ever be With God we are more than we could ever be without God.   Yes, I know, it sounds convoluted but say it to yourself several times.

What does the world need?  The world needs us, you and I, to be genuine children of God.

Remember, we all have an equal chance of being better than we are today, and it is all summed up with the following idea. If you, that means you my friend, were the only person on earth, Jesus would have died willingly just for you!  Does that make you valuable or what?

  1. Awesome reminder Chuck, God always forgives. It’s forgiving ourselves when we mess up that’s generally the problem in my opinion.

  2. So very true Don. Guilt is an ugly burden to bear especially when it is unnecessary, and the thing to remember, once we surrender to Papa God in genuine repentance it is always unnecessary That terrible burden of guilt is a killer. When we discover the awesome love that God offers us and accept Christ’s great sacrifice, only then can we be set free. He is our best friend. Blessings on you my friend. Chaz

  3. Another good one Chuck! God is always ready to forgive us. I am reminded of Mat. 18: 21, when Peter asked Jesus how many times should we forgive someone, seven times? And, Jesus answered NO not seven but seventy times seven! Meaning, God’s forgiveness is always available and unlimited! If it were not so, I would have used up way more than seven times seventy…a long time ago! If God’s love is unlimited, for us, we should be more than willing to love those we daily meet, with the same love and forgiveness.

  4. Right on Don! How often has God forgiven me and He is our perfect example. What love he has shown us! Thanks for the wise words my friend. Blessings on you and yours, Chaz

  5. Great Read! Very encouraging to know that if you have a relationship with the MOST high you fully understand God’s purpose is to share the “Good News'” of His only begotten Son Jesus in His forgiveness of your sin. Charles understands the truth of “To live is in Christ and to die is gain,” (Phillipians 1:21). To truly enjoy the “Full” life that God gave you is to repent of your sin daily and be truly renewed in mind and spirit (Romans 12:2). I Look forward to reading more, thank you “Papa God” for using Charles!

  6. Dear Brett, in my eventful life the only absolute that I have learned is because He is, I am. His love is beyond human understanding and none of us merits the great gift of Jesus. Thanks so much, and praise Him that He is our ours and we are His. Blessings on you and yours my friend, Chaz

  9. Charles, this article was just what was needed at the end of this long day. I feel so much better having been reminded of these important truths that you put so well into words. Thank you!

  10. Kristin, Each day is a new day and offers a new beginning. My prayer is that you have much joy and a sense of fulfillment in all that you do. Blessings on you and yours, Chaz

  11. Beautiful inspiration to begin our new year! Thank you Charles. The last paragraph about His unconditional love, keeps coming back to me. Powerful words and concept to digest.

  12. Dear NH, to be brutally honest this incredible concept escaped me eor most of my life. It has only been in the last few years that I discovered the Father’s unlimited, miraculous love. Human love is always conditional but Papa God’s love is unconditional. What a miracle of Grace! AND IT IS FREE! Blessings on you and yours dear one, Chaz

  13. I humbly suggest the following daily affirmation: “I am who God says I am.” I believe that makes all of us a unique masterpiece created by The Artist.

  14. Oh Gymrat, that is so true! And Papa God, like the loving Father he is, looks at us as if we are precious. And if He looks at us in that light we should realize just how valuable we are.

  15. Encouragement and reminders the points us to the plans/image God has for us are always needed. I am wonderfully and uniquely made in His image. How could i screw that up, better yet why would i. Lord keep me looking to You for who i am and want to be.

    Thanks Charles

  16. Thank you again my friend Charles. God is great all the time. He is a forgiving Father that sacrificed His only son to save future sons (us). We just need to acknowledge Him in all our ways and HE will direct our paths. It is we who stray from Him. But HE loves us so much that when we come to our senses, lol – HE is there waiting with open arms. I luv you Chuck. Keep letting Him use you.

  17. Tahar, Praise God that what is behind us is gone! Not only gone but gone beyond recall. No matter how hard I try to imagine what God has prepared for those of us that love him I pull a blank! Oh what a wonderful God we serve. Love you also my dear friend. Chaz

  18. Yes Chuck, just knowing how much God loves us and forgives us is amazing!
We really have no idea how He values us or what our worth is to Him, until we stop to think that if we were the only person on earth, He would still have sent Jesus just for us. So, living our life each day with an attitude of gratitude is the best way to show we are thankful.

  19. Dear CSG, such a simple idea, one that could change the world if only people would embrace it. What does it take? A smile, a kind word, a gentle touch, the principles of Jesus, love, mercy, trust, yes, the character of our master and Lord to be reflected in each of us. Blessings on you, Chaz

  20. “Without God, we are less than we could ever be With God we are more than we could ever be without God” says it all. We have to live, love and give each day like it is our last. I had to laugh at your doctorate in messing up – I probably qualify as the professor of messing up… Great reminder to only look back to learn from our mistakes, ask for forgiveness and vow not to make the same mistake again.

  21. Hey Professor Mike, right on bro!You are one astute dude! I was wondering if anyone picked up on my play on words with my, Without God, we are less than we could ever be with God… My big problem has always been that I get into God’s way, and my promises, (read, vows) were just so many smoke ropes. Aren’t we fortunate that Papa God is always there to love and bless us and pull us out of the cesspit that the devil wants to drown us in? God bless you sir, Doctor Chaz
