A guide to Inauguration Day

Inauguration Day is expected to begin quietly and end with dancing.

Most of us cannot sit in front of the TV all day. Here is a guide to the festivities:

• Early morning - Private breakfast. The Trump family is expected to share a private breakfast with invited guests at Blair House, which is normally used as a guesthouse for foreign dignitaries.
• 8:30AM- Private prayer service. The Trump family are scheduled to attend a service at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
• 9:30 AM - Coffee date at the White House. The Trumps and the Obamas meet at the White House. Trump and Obama will then ride together to the Capitol.
• 11:30 AM - Swearing-in ceremony. The official inauguration ceremony will happen on the west side of the Capitol building. There will be prayers, speeches and musical performances.
• Noon - Oath of office and inaugural address. Chief Justice John G. Roberts will administer the oath of office. Trump will then deliver his speech.
• After the Oath - The Obamas depart. The Obamas will depart from the East Front of the Capitol.
• Next - Luncheon. Lunch in the Capitol Rotunda with government leaders and friends. Musical performances and more short speeches.
• After lunch - Review of Armed Forces. Mr. Trump will review the American Armed Forces on the east side of Capitol.
• 3:00 PM - Inaugural parade. Trump and Pence will lead the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue. Thousands of military personnel from each branch will participate.
• 7:00 PM until ??? - Inaugural balls. There are two "official" inaugural balls and the Armed Services Ball. Trump is expected to speak and dance at all three.
