From the City of Apopka Public Information Office
Fuddruckers, coming soon to Apopka, will celebrate the opening of its new restaurant by recognizing a special group of local school students.
The much anticipated restaurant located inside the Piedmont Plaza shopping center, 2300 E. Semoran Blvd. in Apopka, will open on March 5. It will host an invitation-only event for students from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28.
The Apopka Police Department’s school resource officers selected 33 students based on class achievements or succeeding through personal challenges. Some are essay contest winners of the police department’s MAGIC program for fifth-graders. Each selected student can invite two guests such as their parents or guardians. Fuddruckers will serve almost 100 people altogether.
“We are very happy to partner with the City of Apopka on this great event in recognizing students that have achieved so much at very early age,” said Nick Videla – partner in the Fuddruckers franchise. “We are super excited to be part of the Apopka community, we have been working with site developer for well over a year and we couldn’t be happier to be part of this growing great city. For us giving back to the community of Apopka is a great honor and we look forward to continuing to work with the City of Apopka.”
Apopka’s police and fire departments will have emergency vehicles on display for the event. Students can meet with police officers and firefighters as well as McGruff the Crime Dog.
“The City of Apopka welcomes Fuddruckers’ newest restaurant,” said Apopka Mayor Joe Kilsheimer. “Recognizing our school students is a wonderful way to give back to the community.”
