"New Errol" to include new golf course, clubhouse, hotel, waterpark, adult living facility and 264 new homes

After 12 months of numerous meeting with homeowners, city officials, focus groups and consultants, the Signature H Property Group submitted their Planned Unit Development Master Plan to the City of Apopka last Friday.

The submitted plan calls for new community amenities including:

  • A 15,000 square foot clubhouse with restaurant
  • A boutique lodge hotel
  • A two-acre water park
  • Outdoor parks and trails
  • 264 new residences
  • A resort-like Adult Living Facility

The area planned for development includes the current 6th-9th holes on the Lake course, as well as the current driving range. The current 18-hole golf course will undergo a complete renovation and redesign to become a full-fledged championship course.

The conceptual plan was first announced several months ago. Meetings were held with Errol residents in September. The development Review Committee reviewed a conceptual plan in December.

“It’s taken time but getting this right for the community and the city was paramount,” said Helmut Wyzisk, Jr., Managing Director for Signature H Property Group. “The plan was developed to celebrate the rich history of Errol Estate while positioning it to become a landmark in this growing corridor.”

Friday's submittal begins the formal approval process which is expected to take several months.

“If all goes as planned the rezoning will be approved in August and construction will start in November,” said Wyzisk. "We expect to keep the current golf course open until October 2017. The new clubhouse and renovated golf course are expected to open on or before November 1st, 2018."

The plan includes a new entrance to Errol Estate from Vick Road.

The plan will be reviewed by several review boards and public hearings. The review process includes the Apopka Development Review Committee, The Apopka Planning Commission and the Apopka City Council.

If approved by the City Council the plan then must undergo a review in Tallahassee.
