Dr. Joel Hunter speaking at Christian Chamber event

From the Central Florida Christian Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Joel Hunter

Dr. Joel Hunter's talk will be based on Jeremiah 29:7, "Also seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." As believers, to build a healthy community we need to work with all segments forming partnerships, and that will net more people for the Kingdom than just the church extending its service. In his talk, "A Community Conversation," Dr. Hunter will explain the importance of how different people and groups with different strengths can work together to serve the weak. This is not only the story of the Gospel but it's good business as well.

Dr. Hunter served as senior pastor of Northland Church in Longwood for 32 years. Now he's a full-time volunteer and serves as the chairman of the Community Resource Network, a non-profit organization he founded that focuses on helping the marginalized - specifically homeless families in Central Florida. Additionally, Dr. Hunter serves as the chairman of the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, a Florida-based nonprofit organization comprised of government officials, corporations, faith communities, and other non-profit organizations working together to end homelessness.
