The low in Apopka on Sunday is expected to be in the 40's. Probably not low enough to garner any sympathy from our friends and family who still live up north and are getting ready for winter. Here is an article you can share with those you love who are not as fortunate as we are.

The winter months are lurking upon us and unfortunately, cold-weather fun can also carry some physical risks. From skiing, ice skating, and snowboarding, to simply shoveling snow, we tend to forget the injuries associated with these activities.

To help avoid winter injuries, Dr. Armin Tehrany, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and founder of Manhattan Orthopedic Care has outlined the most common injuries associated with the winter months in an infographic below.

Dr. Armin Tehrany is a top orthopedic surgeon and founder of Manhattan Orthopedic Care. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and knee, and can speak to a wide range of sports medicine and muscles, bones, nerves, ligaments throughout the body and related injuries. He believes that treatment of various conditions in the body should include both traditional allopathic and non-allopathic methods, ranging from conservative management to surgical intervention.

He is a member of many organizations, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has served on the Board of Directors for the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as the Physicians Advisory Board for the New York County Medical Society. Dr. Tehrany completed his undergraduate training through the Brooklyn College 7-year BA/MD program and received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. During that period, he worked with the team physicians for the New York Jets, New York Rangers, and New York Islanders.
