Christine Moore sworn in at school board meeting

The School Board of Orange County held its annual Reorganization Board Meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ronald Blocker Educational Leadership Center.

Re-elected school board members Pam Gould (District 4), Christine Moore (District 7), Kat Gordon (District 5), and Nancy Robbinson (District 6) (pictured left) took the Oath of Office. They will each return to serve another four-year term.

District 3 School Board Member Linda Kobert was elected vice chairman.

Linda Kobert represents District 3, South Orlando. She is a small business owner and community leader who over the past 10 years has established several non-profit organizations including Fund Education Now, The Alliance for Public Schools and Downtown South. She received the Orange County Public Schools South Learning Community Volunteer of the Year Award for her work in 2006, the Florida School Boards Association Presidents’ Award in 2011, Blankner School’s Education Advocacy Award and the Orange County Public School Chairman’s Award in 2012. Last year, with her 2 partners, she was runner up for Central Floridian of the Year. Linda currently serves on the Education Committee for the League of Women Voters, Co-chairs the Ambassadors Council of the Timucua Arts Foundation and was recently named to the Council of Valencia and the Central Florida Congress of Regional Leaders.
