Dr. Clara L. Walters is a leader with a "desire to inspire." From the cabbage fields of Flagler County to Senior Director of Secondary Education for Orange County Public Schools, she transformed classrooms and was a trailblazer for women and African Americans in secondary schools. As a result, African American women principals in middle and high schools in the Orange County School District. are commonplace today. During her illustrious career, Dr. Walters was the principal of Jones High School from 1981 to 1990 where she received local, state and national recognition as an outstanding school leader. Currently, Dr. Walters is a leadership coach specializing in leadership development for schools, organizations, and businesses through her company Educational & Leadership Training Inc. In addition, she is one of the founders of Central Florida Leadership Academy, a leadership and college preparatory charter school.
Experience has taught Dr. Walters that the way you think determines the way you plan; the way you plan determines the way you work; the way you work determines your productivity; your productivity determines your success. In her presentation, "Lead by DESIGN - No Excuses," Dr. Walters will give you an opportunity to reflect on your 2017 leadership skills and outcomes to determine if any tuning up is needed for optimum performance in 2018.
