At approximately 3:10 a.m., a deputy conducting proactive patrols noticed a suspicious silver Toyota Camry parked in front of the Gator’s Dockside restaurant located at 3030 East S.R. 436 in unincorporated Apopka. A female was inside the vehicle and a query of the tag revealed it was reported stolen out of Orlando. The female was secured without incident and identified as Marcus.

The deputy then noticed the glass door to the business was shattered and three males wearing hoodies were inside. The three suspects escaped out the back of the restaurant and fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel. A perimeter was established and an extensive search was conducted utilizing K9 units and a helicopter, but the suspects were not located.

Deputies discovered a second restaurant located in the same shopping plaza, Caffe Positano, had also been burglarized. It appears the suspects again broke a glass panel door to gain entry to the establishment. Property belonging to the restaurant was located inside the stolen vehicle.dsc_0225

Marcus was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, larceny, and two counts of burglary. She was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility and remains incarcerated on a $19,500 bond.

The investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to call the Seminole County Sheriff's Office at (407) 665-6650 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.
