The Apopka Fire Department (AFD) responded to a brush fire behind The Family Dollar Store on Rock Springs Road Wednesday evening according to Captain Will Sanchez, AFD Public Information Officer. The AFD responded at 10:05pm, just after the store closed.
According to Sanchez, the firefighters had little trouble containing fire. "They extinguished the fire pretty quickly," said Sanchez. "They didn't let it spread."
As the photo shows, the brush fire occurred very close to back of the Family Dollar Store.
According to Sanchez, there were no reported injuries and no damage to property or to the store.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
