Breaking News: One-Year-Old-Boy hit by pickup truck dies

FHP has released more information about the accident that killed a one-year-old boy near Apopka.

Jorge Rodea Carrillo, 27, had backed a Ford F-150 pickup out of his driveway on Ulysses Drive about 11:20 AM this morning. He intended to move another car. When he pulled the pickup truck back in, he didn't see the boy standing in the driveway.

According to the FHP report, the left side of the pickup drove over Isaak Rodea. Isaak was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital Apopka. No charges had been filed.

Updating Breaking News at 3:30PM

According to Florida Highway Patrol Assistant Public Information Officer Steven Montiero, the parent of a one-year-old boy was behind the wheel of a pickup truck in Apopka when it accidentally struck and killed the child. According to Montiero, no criminal charges will be filed.

It was earlier reported that the child was transported to an area hospital, but died from the injuries. The incident happened near the intersection of Ulysses Drive and Thor Avenue. This intersection is northwest of the intersection of 436 and Wekiva Springs Road.

No other information including the name of the family has been released.
