Arrowsmith, Bankson lead December fundraising

Commissioner Bill Arrowsmith took a commanding lead in fundraising over his two opponents in the Seat #4 City Commission election. Arrowsmith raised $13,155.00 in December, as compared to his challengers Kyle Becker (3 contributors, $800.00), and Young Kim (6 contributors, $1060.00).

"We are pleased with the fundraising so far," said Arrowsmith. "We are right on track to reach our goal of $25,000." Among Arrowsmith's 71 contributors were John Land Jr. ($500), Steven Deviese, Chairman of the Apopka Christmas Parade ($100), Isadora Dean, the wife of Commissioner Billie Dean ($100) and Pastor Richard King ($150).

Becker was not thwarted by his December effort.

"December was a slower month with the holidays," he said. "However I'm actively seeking contributions and I'm engaged in fundraising activities to aid with my campaign needs."

In the Seat #3 race, challenger Doug Bankson took a substantial lead over incumbent Commissioner Sam Ruth by bringing in $6295.96 from 14 contributors in December. Ruth collected 1800.00, there were 19 contributors to the Ruth campaign, including a $200 donation by Mosquito Creek Outdoors owner Paul Faircloth. Challenger Alice Nolan raised $785.00 from 5 contributors.
