Apopka police uncover large scale marijuana and drug operation

On Monday, at approximately 3:30pm, the Apopka Police Department responded to a white Mercedes Benz stolen from Palm Beach County traveling on Ocoee Apopka Road. Several officers combed the area and observed the vehicle parked at a house on the 2300 block of Ocoee Apopka Road.

The resulting investigation uncovered a large scale marijuana drug operation that led to the recovery of 167 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $500,000, multiple stolen vehicles and seven firearms.

Mary Aileen Rezende, 40 of Apopka, was arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking in excess of 25 pounds or 300 plants, engaging in a criminal offense with a weapon, marijuana possession with intent to sell, marijuana/drug possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug equipment. She was transported to the Orange County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing according to the APD release.
