Officer Christopher Clutter has shown tremendous growth in his work knowledge even though he brings with him several years of experience from other agencies. This shows his desire to work narcotics-related crimes and often works cooperatively with other officers to conduct traffic stops looking for narcotics and other offenses.

Chief Mike McKinley and Officer Christopher Clutter.

In March of 2018, Officer Clutter received a tip of possible narcotics trafficking being conducted at a local apartment complex. On his own initiative, Clutter began surveillance on the suspected apartment and had another officer standing by for a takedown if needed. Clutter discovered an occupied vehicle parked in front of the target apartment with a strong odor of cannabis coming from it. The resident of the apartment exited carrying a white garbage bag and delivered it to the four occupants of the vehicle. The vehicle left the complex and a traffic stop was conducted. During the stop, probable cause was established for a search which revealed large amounts of illegal narcotics in the white bag and $14,832.00 packaged in rubber-banded bundles on the occupants.

The illegal drugs were packaged in vacuum sealed containers clearly measured for resale. The diligence of Clutter shows his dedication to remove illegal narcotics from the community in which he lives and is an example of his outstanding performance in team-oriented accomplishments. His actions bring great credit to himself, displays the pride he has in serving the citizens of Apopka, and reflect his desire to fulfill the Mission Statement of the Apopka Police Department.
