Topping-out ceremony scheduled for 11:30 AM today

A special “topping-out” metal beam was placed onto the highest point of the new Florida Hospital Apopka today.  The new medical complex is under construction near State Roads 429 and 414 in Apopka. The beam was signed by hospital staff and Apopka residents to commemorate one of the single largest construction projects in Apopka’s history and the future of medical care in our community.

If you were not there you can watch the festivities by clicking on the link below:

The new, 70-acre location will include a seven-story, 600,000-square-foot hospital building, a 200,000-square-foot medical office building and a helipad. Plans call for 120 private patient rooms, additional surgical services and expanded Women’s Center, outpatient rehabilitation program and intensive care unit.

The facility is expected to create up to 300 new jobs in Apopka. Opening is set for November 2017.

  1. Wow, the new hospital is nowhere near completion, but just look up there at the American flag a flying! Christine, when, if ever, are you going to see that new Dream Lake Elementary School gets a flag for the new flagpole. Can you pass the hat and take up a collection at the OCPS board meeting? This is pitiful. No flag at the brand new completed school!
