A renaissance of falcons coming to Apopka

It's time for ARC's Spring Affaire Renaissance Day. This is an all-day family-oriented event. This year, ARC will be joined by local members of The Society for Creative Anachronism who will be setting up two medieval encampments, hosting fencing demonstrations and children's games.

Schedule of Events:

10am - 3pm Children's Medieval Games; Fencing Demonstration, Raptor and Falconry Displays, Falconry Flight Demos

12pm - 3pm Snacks, Refreshments & Mead Tasting

1pm - 3pm Renaissance Period Photos with the Raptors

Have an up-close and personal experience with falcons, hawks, and owls and learn about the ancient sport of falconry. Bring your camera so you can take a photo with one of the falcons. Enjoy snacks and refreshments. Play games and make merry!

About the ARC

The Avian Reconditioning Center is a bird of prey rehabilitation and education facility located in Apopka. ARC was started in 2001 and opened to the public in 2004. It is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 public charity organization dedicated to raptor rehabilitation, education and research, thereby increasing public awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of Florida’s magnificent raptors and the natural habitats in which they live. ARC is open to the public on Saturdays (Closed in August). You are invited to stop by for a personal encounter with the resident eagles, hawks, falcons, kites and owls.
